New Cold Sore Treatment
Great news for Cold Sore sufferers!
An Amazing new product is now available for the first time in Australia and here at WSW.
Glutathione – a powerful antioxidant, has been proven to dramatically reduce the viral life cycle of the Herpes Simplex (HSV-1) virus even after a full viral outbreak.
The new liposomal Glutathione (a liquid with rapid absorption into the bloodstream) can be used as a preventative measure or at the first sign of a cold sore to prevent it taking hold. You can also use it topically, directly onto the viral lesion to stop it in its tracks.
What is it and how does it work?
Liposomal Glutathione featured recently at a weekend professional seminar I attended. An American scientist, Dr Christopher Shade, was visiting to talk about the new science of human detoxification and in particular a liposomal delivery system of the body’s most powerful antioxidant, Glutathione, to support that process. Glutathione supports our liver’s ability to keep our redox balance optimal. (The redox balance describes the balance between antioxidants – things that help keep our blood and organs clean and healthy, and the toxic things we need to get rid of such as pollutants, food additives, bad oils etc). Glutathione helps our body deal with the bad stuff faster and more effectively and therefore achieve a more optimal level of health.
A Liposome is a tiny nano-particle with a lipid outer layer that can absorb quickly into our bloodstream and then into cells without having to go through the digestive system. It’s a very exciting product. When it was mentioned that an added bonus of the product was for use as a topical antiviral treatment for cold sores, my attention peaked and I went home to do more research. This is what I found:
A study back in 1995 looked at living cells infected with the herpes simplex virus (HSV-1) under a microscope. When glutathione was added to those cells it was found that the growth and development of the virus was stopped in its tracks, even when the virus was fully established in the host cell. It is thought Glutathione interferes with the part of the virus that enables replication and infection. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8540746
The problem has been taking that anti-viral process from a test tube environment and making it work in living person. Now that we have the liposomal delivery system we can finally jump that hurdle and deliver glutathione quickly and directly into the affected cells via topical application.
We know from personal experience amongst the therapists in the clinic that this really works and are super excited to be able to offer this amazing product to our patients.
If you are interested contact the clinic as soon as you can. We look forward to hearing from you.
